History of IIS' Founding
The Integrated International School (IIS) grew out of Dr. Vanessa von Auer's passion for children, who as a Clinical Psychologist and expert in Holistic Education, aimed to establish a learning environment in which each and every student mattered. Too often, her work with children in the counselling setting identified that students became lost in the masses or that they resorted to "acting out to stand out" in bigger educational settings.
IIS formerly known as the STARS Development Centre began its humble beginnings in February 2009, when five children under the age of 6 years were "school-less". Her determination and unyielding belief in their potential motivated Dr. von Auer to develop an enriching pilot programme. From five students, IIS has grown by 500% within a short period of time and has gone on to see its students sit NAPLAN examinations (Australian national assessments) successfully and has become an approved Cambridge International School, offering AS and A Levels.

IIS is different!
The Integrated International School is different from the ‘giants’. IIS offers a boutique approach to children of all nationalities, who are 4 years to 18 years of age. IIS is unique because, while academia is designed to spark the child’s interests and challenge him/her, his/her psycho-socio and emotional well-being is equally important. Everything we do is designed to help your child develop into an independent, fulfilled and socially conscientious individual. Our international team of teachers deliver a stimulating academic curriculum based on Australian national standards for students enrolled in the Enrichment Programme, Primary School and Middle School. Students in High School can choose to take the Cambridge International AS and/or A Levels (British curriculum).
IIS offers students a luxury that is not easily accessible in bigger schools. Our class sizes are of priority with none exceeding a teacher/student ratio of 1:8 in the Mainstream and 1:4 in the Support Approach. Each class is lead by one Head Teacher and at least one Teaching Aid. Teachers in the Support Approach have a special education and/or child psychology background. Our curricula are enriched by a psycho-socio-emotional programme, which consists of counselling services, behavioral therapy, one-on-one remedial tuition and social skills training as and when necessary.
At IIS, each child is given an opportunity to love learning! With an individualised touch of our teachers, every child has the potential to be a successful learner. Our small school size allows us to emphasise academic goals and at the same time be flexible enough to accommodate every student’s learning pace.
